New POST Chairman appointed to SONS OF THE LEGION
Commander Voorhies has accepted the initiative of Richard “Jerry” Melancon as a volunteer to Chair the Post Sons of the Legion Committee. The official appointment was announced at the December Executive Committee Meeting. Jerry will help re-activate the Sons during the upcoming year.
Jay Fountain will act as “Point Man” for the Sons until elections can be held.

Commander Voorhies has appointed Debi Smith as Chairperson for the Homeland Security Committee. The Homeland Security Committee will coordinate Post 77 efforts to enhance our relationship with the First Responders in our area. These include, but not limited to, Reservists, Mississippi National Guard, Police, Sheriff, Firefighters, and Medical Personnel.

THE AMERICAN LEGION’S NATIONAL COMMANDER, CLARENCE HILL, WILL MAKE HIS OFFICIAL VISIT TO SOUTH MISSISSIPPI ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010 AT 5:30 PM.
THE CLEMENT R. BONTEMPS, AMERICAN LEGION POST 139, 703 GREEN MEADOW ROAD, BAY ST. LOUIS, MS WILL BE HOST POST FOR HIS VISIT.
AN INVITATION IS EXTENDED TO ALL LEGION MEMBERS, LADIES AUXILIARY, SONS-OF-THE-LEGION, AND TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO ATTEND THIS FUNCTION.
